On the eve of Tutrakan’s Town Day, on September 20,we are organising a free visit to Oltenita for our members. We also have a limited number of places available for anyone from Bulgaria or Romania who would like to join us.
The initiative is organised in partnership with Green Space Association – Oltenita, Tutrakan Municipality and Oltenita Municipality. Its aim is to bring people living on both sides of the Danube closer together — to meet, connect, share experiences and create new memories together. For far too long, the river has been a border. Let’s turn it into a bridge — and an opportunity to bring the people on both banks closer together.
PROGRAMME:
Departure from Tutrakan — from the boat landing, in several groups at 09:30, 10:00 and 10:30.
• Arrival in Oltenita — we will walk to the city bus stop at Oltenita Port. A free bus transfer has been arranged for our group with the support of Oltenita Municipality.
• Guided walk — those who wish can join a guided tour of central Oltenita, led by a local guide.
• Free time — in the town centre, everyone will have time to explore the local sights, enjoy the atmosphere and grab something delicious to eat.
• Return to Tutrakan — in groups at 16:00, 16:30 and 17:00.
AND THERE’S MORE:
Especially for the occasion, our colleagues from Green Space Association Green Space are organising a kayak tour along the final 7 km of the Argeș River,followed by another 1.8 km along the Danube to Oltenita Port. The starting point is near the bridge over the Argeș River in Oltenita. Minimum number of participants: 5. Maximum number of participants: 12.
Start: 10:30 Finish: approximately 12:00
If more than 12 people register, a second tour may be organised, starting at 13:00.
All necessary equipment is provided, including a kayak, paddle and life jacket. At the end of the tour, a transfer back to Oltenita is also provided.
Participants under 18 may take part only when accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
You do not need to know how to swim to take part. Licensed guides and lifeguards will be present throughout the activity. The tour is easy and designed to be safe and accessible. Please keep in mind, however, that you may get wet, so we recommend bringing a hat and sunglasses.
Participation fee: €18 per person.
